Paris, June 09, 2018 | Alliuris’ annual General Meeting was held in Paris this year and hosted by its member firm Farthouat et Associés. This meeting was also the 15th anniversary celebration of the Alliuris Group, founded in the year 2003 in Brussels by 10 European law firms. Since then the group has grown to 21 members with 32 offices and 450 business lawyers and extended its presence into important markets in the world as USA, Brazil, Russia, China and India. Representatives of the member firms in Europe as well as from oversees firms attended: Atul Dua from New Delhi, Renato Pacheco Neto from Sao Paulo, Yong Xie and Yaogang Shen from Shanghai as well as Ray Vandenberg from New York. The group is leaded by the board, who’s members were re-elected. The chairman and managing director Ulrich Herfurth manages the group since 2003 and was re-appointed as well. A unique advantage of Alliuris for its clients is the close and trustful cooperation among the member firms. In fact Alliuris members act like an integrated global firm but without an overhead and related overhead costs. The range of services includes corporate and commercial law – from cross border litigation to M&A transactions and investments. Practice groups within Alliuris are focussing on four major sectors: mobility, life & health, energy and information technology. Alliuris has made great achievements in the sector of digitalisation and with the challenges in data protection. Karin Absalonsen from Nyborg & Rordam in Denmark has presented the requirements a law firm has to fulfil including several complicated questions arising from the conflict between data protection law and professional rules for lawyers. But data protection is also a new and important field of legal consulting, because most companies must comply with the new rules and Alliuris firms advise their clients how to structure such project. Data protection – as European law – affects most of the clients in Europe, and regarding the marketplace principle even those in non-EU-countries. Alliuris has already developed a range of consulting services as for Data Security, Data Protection, Data Ownership and Data Compliance.
